We raised four wonderful sons: two reside in Lake Mills, one lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and one is in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We are also proud grandparents to three grandsons in Cheyenne. Of course, our family would not be complete without Molly, our American Cocker Spaniel, who insists on always being by my side. Whenever I find some spare time, I enjoy gardening, biking, camping, traveling, sewing, and quilting. I am also looking forward to taking a few photography classes in the near future.

    Mackenzie Windl-Community Member

My name is Mackenzie, I was pulled into the initial brainstorming/planning of the childcare center by Dina, as we knew each other as co-workers at Lake Mills Elementary School. I was brought onto this project while I was attending college for early childhood education. Most of my 8+ years of work experience is in special education/disability care. However, I also have childcare experience from my roles as a lead teacher and as a childcare district leader where I oversaw 2 childcare centers. Im currently an executive director for a new home care company that provides support and services to children with differing abilities. I am excited that Joyful Hearts Learning Center is officially open to welcome families and provide high quality, affordable childcare to our community. Outside of work and volunteering for JHLC, I enjoy traveling, boating, utving, and most importantly spending time with friends/family.

    Deb van Ommeren-Church Rep.

As an active member of our community, I know that quality child care is essential. Though I am technically "retired", I currently sit on the Board of Directors for The Rock Lake Activity Center, have held a number of volunteer positions at the LM Moravian Church and have an extensive business background. I believe that quality, caring child care can set a child up for success and that is why I agreed to sit on the Board of Directors for JHLC.
